PBR+NPR=

Two great tastes that taste great together? PBNPR&R? Last week I noticed that Pabst Blue Ribbon had started underwriting NPR's "All Things Considered."  I thought you'd enjoy this observation (if you hadn't already) since we're often on the same page about this kinda stuff. For those in need of a leg-up, PBR sponsoring  programming on NPR is an interesting brand mash-up. 

There are conclusions people draw about NPR listeners (yuppie, liberal, educated, tend to keep cars in garage, drink beer for taste) and PBR drinkers (rednecks, po' folks, tend to keep cars on blocks, those who drink beer to forget). Those conclusions are somewhat of a stretch. In recent years, PBR has enjoyed a bit of a comeback, especially with live music venues. It's a fashionable beer for the indie set. I haven't witnessed much in terms of an NPR resurgence with this crowd, but I do know that it's usually a topic of conversation ("I heard it on NPR, yo!"). Hmmm... I guess it's a good fit after all. Way to go marketing wizards. I think you're onto something.

Makes total sense. Every time they fade out of Glass with Spoon or Wilco, I want to grab a beer and turn the radio off. :)
