Here's a clip from an e-mail Mother Wilma sent me yesterday, "Dear Ry, I read your blog this afternoon and was truly disappointed by the absence of Little Miss O's photograph."
This was my response, "Don't worry mother, for tonight I will post the images of our Bridgeton Christmas. Thanks for asking though! I had to get to bed last night before posting all the resized pictures. So, keep checking and you'll see them soon."
While preparing my Very Merry Jersey Christmas photo album, I realized that I should also share our Very Merry Newark Christmas with you as well. Here are the only two photos we have of said event. The first one is me trying to don Sophia with her new gay apparel--it's a rabbit pelt I got at AC Moore. The second is of Sophia inspecting the goods. As you can see from the photos, we didn't spend that much Christmastime in Newark, DE.
Fausnachts, sorry it took me so long to post the pictures of the Christmas party! You can hit the link a few words back or scroll down to the left hand side to view the photo album that you've been so excited to see. Drop me an e-mail if you want me to change your captions or unpost your likenesses. Hope they were worth the wait (and my work). By the way, thanks to the Mighty Mouse my blogging powers have increased. Thanks Father John & Mother Marilyn!
We're off to Jersey for Christmas with my family. Tomorrow we'll be in Lancaster. I posted Bryan's very special gift from last year to illustrate the blessedness of the Cohanzick Zoo at Christmas. Zachary Brownbear was one of the zoo's more controversial exhibits. Or at least that's what the Queen of Sweden thought. Maybe Santa will give me more time to blog for Christmas. I feel like I am always sneaking a minute here or there to fill you in on the tip of the iceberg. It's been a busy week, that's all I should chalk it up to. Bryan's an amazing artist. I crack up every time I see this construction paper creation around the apartment. We've talked about doing a collaborative piece sometime and I think we should put that high on our list of stuff to do in 2006. Illustration: "Zachary Brownbear's Christmas Card" by Bryan Warner
"Greetings. What brings you to a quiet little Christmassy place like this? You're looking great this evening, did I tell you that already? I'm sorry. Maybe it's the wassail, it's almost as good as you look. Maybe it's the season. Perhaps it's the mistletoe. You do know that you're standing under it, don't you? What do you think of my Christmas mug? I won it in last year's wassailing contest. I really do make the best wassail in the Susquehanna Valley. Well, that's what Kim Lemon says anyway."
I'll throw some more pics up of my very Fausnacht Christmas in the next few days. Patience my good peoples. I'm still digging out from being away for a few days. In the meantime you'll have to just settle for this very casual snapshot of cousin Andrew. He's not posing, he's this photogenic all the time.
Do yourself a favor and download Sufjan Stevens 3 Christmas EPs from Irresponsible Journalism. (Do Josiah Q. Roe a favor and help him with his bandwidth form while you're there. You can't always be takin' yo!) My holidays were very merry and bright last year with help from these here songs. Listen closely for your friend and mine Denison Witmer singing the part of the donkey and dueting on a handful of tracks. God rest ye merry gentlepersons!
