I feel like I owe you so much in terms of content. I still owe you a review of the wedding weekend, post all of the great pictures of the event to flickr (anyone wanna sponsor me a pro account?) the snails show, the amazing Swimmers debut at the Khyber, and all kinds of other randomness from my days. I've been working too much lately without much time at home for writing. And it's funny because I really enjoy doing that for you. I'm an entertainer at heart. After a day of work, it's nice to come home and write from my enjoyment. That is why I started this in the first place. I owe Kyle my "Fire on the Wire" story for Bridgeton Legends.
I can't even keep up with my blog reading (hence the reason you haven't heard from me lately). It's bad. You should listen to this piece by David Weinberger. He's a really interesting writer/philosopher/business dude. He writes books as well. He states how I'm feeling about not reading your stuff lately.
You may be saying, "Who's that fellow in the picture at the beginning of this post? What role does he play in all of this?"
His name is Tom. He was in the merry band of groomsmen with me. He is the reason that I am no longer a Sprint Ambassador. This basically means that I no longer have a TV (yet again) and a way to listen to new music on Tuesdays. It's OK with me. The phone was just one more thing to feel guilty about for not using or getting the most out of or reporting on. Don't get me wrong, I love schwag just as much as ya'll, it's just that I saw someone with a need and I gave. Tom said he didn't have a cell phone so I gave him the one that Sprint gave me. No big deal, no real loss. He's almost 40 and he's never had his own cell phone. I thought I'd share the love. Now he can watch clips of The Daily Show on the toilet instead of me. I still consider myself an ambassador of something, I'm just trying to figure out what that is at the moment. I laid down one burden, many more to go. If you still have that number, give Tom a call and say hi.
Come June, and after some R&R in Nashville, I'll have a better bead on life and more hope for the future and summer for sure. I'll be halfway there this Friday after Nellie's Grad Thesis show.
