We just finished watching the film with the same name as the above mentioned headline.
We agreed that the issues presented had very interesting parallels to the world we're dwelling in today. We reaffirmed our position that George Clooney would make for a great real life President of the United States. We also stated that he will never get the job if he continues to make films like "Good Night, and Good Luck" and "Syriana".

Kyle - This One's For You

I never knew my favorite mystical late 80's/early 90's action hero make records.  Steven Seagal is such a multi-talented dude. Thanks for the tip (and even more for the sample MP3s) Paul Scheer!
UPDATE: Don't waste your time on Paul's send-up of Steve's energy juice. Paige has established herself as the dojo master of lambasting this joke of a energy boosting beverage. She's totally upped the game for those VH1 pundits.

nothing here is perfect

My very good friends Movies With Heroes released "Nothing Here Is Perfect" today. It's their biggest, tightest, most ambitious, and best effort yet. I've got much respect for the band because they know how to work it and they deserve an A for tenacity and stick-to-it-iveness for surviving the ups and downs of 10 plus years of trying to make it in the rock game. They exemplify the beautiful struggle. Help a brother's brothers out and listen to them and possibly purchase this finely crafted work of rock. The record is on iTunes as well, so you don't even have to step outside into the dark night to find out what the kids with their hearts on their sleeves are listening to these days on their walkmen boom boxers.
UPDATE: I just got wind that the MWH CD is going to be available in Hot Topic stores. This story keeps getting better.

DJG did not end up traveling with us to the show but I did take a few pictures as promised. Movies With Heroes rocked the house, nuff said. Oh, and I found a wallet in the street that I'm in the process of returning to its rightful owner.  I thought I could be all slick and stuff and track him down by using google, his Delta Air Miles card and student ID. In the end the path of least resistance won out -- his Blockbuster card. More on that in the near future.  Believe it or not, I am resolved to getting more sleep these days.

New York City Bound

SYB and I (RMO aka holaolah) are headed up to NYC tonight to support our boys MWH at The Knitting Factory. Should be phat. Maybe I'll bring back some pics / photographs.

Neil Wisdom

There is something so special about Neil’s music that is really hard for me to describe. It makes me feel old. Every time I listen to his records I feel like I’m playing back a motion picture of my life inside my head.
Couldn't have said it any better myself.

The Fearless Freaks

If you haven't yet seen "The Fearless Freaks" do yourself a favor and catch it sometime soon. Artists and rockers will dig it but so too will people who like great stories. That leaves pretty much all the rest of humanity to enjoy this film. It's compelling, scary, touching, inspiring, and very funny. If you wanna borrow it sometime (meaning: I see you on a regular basis) put in your request asap.

The Lonely Guy...

was not as funny as I remembered it being when I saw it as a kid. You know that all the good is gone from the library when you have to choose between that and UFO Mysteries disc 4 of 9.

Clooney For President?

Just so you can say you heard it here first, it is my firm belief that George Clooney will someday play the role of President of the United States. Just putting that out there. You can scoff all you want, but he's a way better actor than Ventura, Schwarzenegger and Reagan combined. Check out this Fresh Air interview and see if you can pick up on what I'm puttin' down.
