We Finished a Room

Friends and regular readers - rejoice with us now! After almost three months as homeowners we've finally completed renovations on Janell's studio. We finished all the work on Friday evening and moved in on Saturday. Having one room finished gives us hope for what the rest of the place will look like. Common Phrase

"What a mess" is a phrase we use a lot around these parts. It's not just used to describe actual physical messes but also situations, relationships, commitments, schemes, wars and other various and assorted conflicts that have somehow become messy.

Our carpeted kitchen will soon just have a plain old wooden floor. I started tearing into the layers of carpet, luan, linoleum, and newspaper last night. It was pretty slow going and not very fulfilling. This morning I got the bright idea to put an old blade in the circular saw, set the depth for about 5/8 of an inch and go to town. I must say, it was a wise idea. I should be able to finish it during our next two hour evening work session.
