Two Things, Not Related

Thing 1: I will join Kyle at the Free Library of Philadelphia tomorrow night to see/hear Chuck Palahniuk and Elmore Leonard.
Thing 2: Sometimes I get to work on "special projects" at the day job. This week's project involves fashioning a helmet video cam. While doing some research on how to construct such a device, I found OfficeGuns.com.

Like I said, these items are not related. Just thought I should clear that up for anyone who thinks I have Fight Club tendencies toward creating workplace anarchy.

Baby Needs an iPhone!

I need/want a new i-phone. That means that Drew has to go buy one and that Lisa has to wash it. See you guys in a couple weeks!

My g-mail account has been actin' a fool for the past four days or so. I'm sorry if you've sent me something and I haven't responded. This problem is a real hassle for you because I have something dyn-o-mite cooked up for you that involves Charlton Heston and rock & roll but alas, a majority of the post is imprisoned in my on again off again g-mail pile in the sky. You'll have to hold your damn dirty horses.

Today's News Is Not Really Here

Today's news is brought to you via AdRants (as well as the screen cap snapped right from the site, sorry, I'm juggling). I've followed the site for a while (for reasons both professional and personal, more professional really than personal). If you know me, and why I like what I like, you'll know why you and I like the site that Mr. Steve links to. If you don't, you'll get an idea of what I and we like and then we'll be closer friends and colleagues.

Sorry it's not much today. I've got homework and I am also trying to review the 10 plus years old MTV Unplugged concert of Robert Zimmerman that I borrowed from my precious Newark library around the corner. Someday I promise I'll take out another book instead of DVDs and CDs.

Amateur Audio Books Catch Fire on the Web

Part of the whole impetus behind starting this blog was so I could start getting my ideas out there in the world space and letting them come to some type of action of fruit bearing place in the grander picture. My idea for podcasting books in the public domain is another one I can chalk up as being untimely plucked from my "what he contributed to the world" list that will likely be read at my cremation and 21 gun salute ceremony when my days come to a close. I even went so far as to send Cameron Reilly of the Podcast Network an e-mail about it and he seemed kinda interested. Alas, I've gots ta be quicker on the draw and even faster to action. I'm learning new stuff every day.

Here's another one I lost -- They might've even held off on canceling The West Wing if they'd've heard my idea for making the presidential elections that take place on the show interactive. It would have been so cool to elect your fictional president via the Web and then make the writers and network actually have to abide by our decisions. Please don't blame me for canceling the show. Someday I'll stop sitting on all these good ideas.

SKYPE

I'm working on fulfilling one of my  New Year's tech resolutions: figuring out SKYPE. I thank that maybe you should do it as well.
If you have it and wanna drop me a line, my name is holaolahhello. I have to run out to a party and so I think I'll have to figure this out in little bites. I always seem to do this kinda thing like that--decide to make the leap, and head out the door.

What's been on my mind

If you'd like to hear a couple of my favorite web-celebrities discuss the stuff that's been on my mind as of late, you are now able to do so. Listen to Cameron Reilly interview David Weinberger via Cameron's "G'day World" podcast. The topic is basically everything that Ryan's been thinking about in terms of the politics and future of the web, blogs, the long tail, marketing, and the good fight.  It's almost like the "old" way you'd call up you local radio station and request a song and then they'd play it. Except I didn't drop Cameron a line and say, "Dude, interview David. He talks about stuff I am interested in. Please give him a call. Thanks." None of that happened, and yet it still happened.
